Social platforms participate in holding responsibility over the products and services they provide to the public. That being said, the real social dilemma peope are having, has nothing to do with the social platforms themselves. Instead they have everything to do with how we use them and how we were taught (or not taught) to use them. Advertising is a reflection of our culture. This is also true and can be similarly said about our social platforms. That is, that social media platforms reflect our true nature as human beings. The good, the bad and the ugly.
It is up to us to take control over how we use the tools that levels opportunity in the marketplace and allows for the best product or service to win. People forget, that where ever we exsist trade and exchange for value will always follow. Becuase, it is inherit in human nature to share value and strive for the best. It’s important in how we use the tools of trade in today’s economy. Understanding that they (social media platforms) provide opportunities. They are not substitites for a lack of discipline, focus, emotional eq, grit, research, critical thinking, and productivity. Individual responsibility and education on the skills listed above is the real social dilemma not social media platforms.
